Brian Liss grew up in the vibrant tapestry of Toronto, Canada, a Multi cultural city pulsating with creativity and diversity,  shaping his values from an early age.  

His journey into the art world began at 18 when he embarked on the entrepreneurial path, igniting his passion with "Movie Magic," where he exhibited and sold authentic movie posters to university students across Ontario. This venture laid the foundation for "Affairs of the Art Inc," a distinguished fine art poster company.

In 1989, Brian transitioned into the realm of original art dealing, initially from a modest studio before expanding to a larger space in 1991. His keen eye for talent and commitment to fostering artistic expression led him to curate exhibitions in iconic locales such as Montreal ,Vancouver, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Havana and Manhattan. With a wealth of experience and a tireless dedication to his craft, Brian established Liss Gallery.

The gallery's evolution included the addition of a custom framing division, seamlessly integrating the artistic vision with meticulous craftsmanship.
A decade later, Brian's unwavering commitment to promoting exceptional talent propelled him to relocate to Yorkville, the epicentre of fine art appreciation.

 

Brian has curated shows for some of the art world's luminaries, including Romero Britto , Peter Max , Justin Bua, Magnum Photographers Ken Heyman ,Sebastiao Salgado, Harry Benson CBE and Eve Arnold, Rock N Roll Photographers Mick Rock,  Lynn Goldsmith and Bob Gruen, Music legends John Lennon , Miles Davis , Bernie Taupin CBE , Ringo Starr, Mick Fleetwood, Ronnie Wood, Actors Sir Anthony Hopkins and Billy Dee Williams, and acclaimed artists such as Joe Lasker Johnathan Ball and Simeon Posen, elevating Yorkville's cultural landscape and extending his influence across North America.

 

Notably, he orchestrated acclaimed exhibits showcasing The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection in Toronto, Santa Monica, and Houston, captivating audiences with whimsical creativity.
